Medicine Dosing Charts for Baby
Before you give your baby any medicine, consult these charts to make sure you're giving her the right amount

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) Dosing Chart

Child's Weight/ Approximate Age

Infant's Concentrated Drops (80 mg/.8 mL)

Children's Suspension Liquid (160 mg/5 mL) 5 mL = 1 tsp

6 - 11 lb/ 0-5 mo .4 mL
12-17 lb/6-11 mo .8 mL 1/2 tsp or 2.5 mL
18-23 lb/ 12-23 mo 1.2 mL (.8 mL + .4 mL) 3/4 tsp or 3.75 mL
24-35 lb/ 2-3 y 1.6 mL (.8 mL + .8 mL) 1 tsp or 5 mL

Acetaminophen can be given every 4 to 6 hours as needed, up to 5 times a day.

Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) Dosing Chart

Child's Weight/ Approximate Age

Infant's Concentrated Drops (50 mg/1.25 mL)

Children's Suspension Liquid (100 mg/5 mL) 5 mL = 1 tsp

6 - 11 lb/ 0-5 mo Do not use. Do not use.
12-17 lb/6-11 mo 1.25 mL 1/2 tsp or 2.5 mL
18-23 lb/ 12-23 mo 1.875 mL (1.25 mL + .625 mL) 3/4 tsp or 3.75 mL
24-35 lb/ 2-3 y 2.50 mL (1.25 mL + 1.25 mL) 1 tsp or 5 mL

Ibuprofen can be given every 6 to 8 hours as needed, up to 4 times a day.
