Baby's 1st Year Videos: Baby's First Checkup
This short video describes what vital signs your pediatrician will measure at your baby's first visit
By Parenting.com
Your baby's first checkup will take place within a few days of your arrival home from the hospital. The doctor will check your baby's vital signs, check for weight gain and learns how well he's feeding. After recording all the measurements, your pediatrician will take a more hands-on approach at every check-up, doing a physical exam of your baby's eyes, ears, nose throat, genitals and joints. Your pediatrician will discuss your baby's eating and sleeping habits and other areas of behavior and development. Finally, your baby will be receiving shots, probably not at this checkup, but in the future. You may receive a schedule of these and ages they will be administered.
