Your newborn may have siblings waiting at home. Here are some ideas to help get the sibling bond off to the right start.
Give an older child a special job like helping during diaper changes. For those moments when you must tend to the baby, invite your older child to sit by you or have a snack next to you, or let him hold a book up for you to read to him while you nurse. Don't forget to give your firstborn some mommy time. That need for individual attention is the root of sibling rivalry.
