can you get a tattoo while pregnant?
i am 5 week,and really excited to be having my baby with my boyfriend. only thing is i have my ex's name tattooed on me, and this being my first child and a new relationship i now more than anything else want to have it covered. can i have a tattoo done?

You should wait until after you have your baby. My tattoo artist refuses to tattoo me until after.
From the American Pregnancy Association:
The main concern with getting a tattoo during pregnancy is the risk of contracting an infection, such as Hepatitis B and HIV. Although the risk is small, it is recommended that you wait to get a tattoo until after your baby is born.
My tattoo artist makes you sign a paper that states you are not knowingly pregnant or he will not even consider it. He told me that this was because getting a tattoo puts some level of stress on everyone no matter how many times you had done it before and this will then put stress on the baby too.. so just put it off til after you have the baby that is what I am doing!
No. Dont even risk anything going wrong with your precious baby. What would you do if something went wrong because of that tattoo. Just wait till after birth.
