Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

You're 17. You should not be trying to have a baby. You will have plenty of time later to start a family. Right now, you need to focus on school so that you can actually afford to raise a child. I'm about to have have my fourth child (in 5 years) and I can honestly tell you that while having kids is great, it is A LOT of work. It never ends. It isn't all cuddling cute babies with an occasional diaper change. Even if you've had plenty of babysitting experience, you don't know what it is like to actually raise a child. It's hard, hard work that takes an incredible amount of sacrifice and even more patience. Literally and endless supply of patience. You need to educate yourself in different parenting methods and have a plan for how you will discipline your kids, etc. being a parent means that you are in charge of shaping a human being. It is not something teenagers should be doing.

I'm 18; in my 2nd trimester, & let me tell you it's hard! Yes it has it's perks but it's over all hard. Think a little more, are you ready for getting sick & sleeping all the time, watching your friends forget about you, it's a lot physcaily & emotionaly ! I wish I would've waited.
