Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

I would check the chemical patches, some are safe and some are not. Heating pads are NOT suggested during pregnancy unless you are very careful with them. They can heat up your core too much, and cause problems for baby. At physio they still put them on me, but wrap two towels around them so they are just warm, not hot. For the same reason, super hot baths and hot tubs are also bad while pregnant.
