is it safe to swim in a lake?
We're going to the lake this weekend, and my friend just mentioned that it's not safe while pregnant due to the bacteria that can be found in lakes. Is there any truth to this?

From what I've heard, it's not like the bacteria is going to "reach" the baby, but that YOU could get an infection that might eventually, if untreated, harm the baby. Use caution, and don't drink the water *yuck* but from what I've heard you can swim in lakes. If you are really worried about it, ask your doctor.
