Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

Japanese people eat sushi when they're pregnant.  Check this out: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/15/opinion/15shaw.htmlI definitely wouldn't go for raw shellfish.  I also avoid raw salmon at all times because I have this (not totally unfounded) theory that salmon is a dirty fish. http://www.gourmet.com/foodpolitics/2008/08/raw-salmon-tapeworm

Sushi is perfectly fine, as long as it's from a place you trust and you check what is in your roll. I wouldn't go for anything raw [which is sashimi]. Anything cooked is fine. I'm 10 weeks and I refuse to deny myself of my wonderful sushi.
