My guess would be when he does this you rush over to stop him and on occasion he gets his way after all?....  I would say to just calmly say, wow that must hurt and walk away.... because kids learn pretty quick what will and what will not get our attention

I think you should make it look like it doesn't affect you and your decisions. He will eventually get the hint...my son did.
