I started producing colostrum when I was 5 months pregnant....So producing colostrum and losing mucus plug are not connected.

It's very common to produce colostrum throughout the entire pregnancy. Sometimes it will even leak a little well before your baby is born. As cresteds said, there is no correlation between colostrum production and the mucus plug.

These two events aren't linked in any way. Plenty of women have colostrum early in pregnancy. In fact, losing your mucus plug isn't a reliable indicator of when you'll go into labor.
