Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

Are there any wahm on here that are medical transcriptionists, if so, How do you schedule around a newborn child? Do you work for a company or freelance? Any other advice you can think of to include would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Medical transcription can be very difficult. (I worked for surgeons.) If this is something you're thinking about getting into you might want to find another option. Doctors dictation is worse than their handwriting! As far as who empolys you goes, it depends. Larger hospitals/medical groups will employ you directly or will contract out with you.
