Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

I would call your doctor to let him or her know. You're 8 weeks and that's too late for it to just be implantation bleeding. It could be nothing, but it could be a sign of something serious. When I was about 6 weeks along with my second pregnancy I started having some brown discharge. At 7 weeks I had some bleeding and was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage. Everything turned out just fine, it was just some random spotting. But, that isn't always the case, so it's best to let your doctor know.

Brown dischrge is normal in the first few weeks of pregnancy. It's normally caused by the implantation of the fertilized egg. Later on in pregnancy it is sometimes a sign of a problem. I would call your doctor to see if he or she wants you to be seen sooner than your next scheduled appointment. I had brown discharge at 7 weeks which, after a few days, turned into spotting bright red blood. I had a threatened miscarriage, which was very scary. Thankfully, everything turned out fine for me.
