is brown discharge normal during early pregnancy?

Brown dischrge is normal in the first few weeks of pregnancy. It's normally caused by the implantation of the fertilized egg. Later on in pregnancy it is sometimes a sign of a problem. I would call your doctor to see if he or she wants you to be seen sooner than your next scheduled appointment. 

I had brown discharge at 7 weeks which, after a few days, turned into spotting bright red blood. I had a threatened miscarriage, which was very scary. Thankfully, everything turned out fine for me.
