C section at 38 weeks, is it dangerous for the baby?

I'm 36 1/2 weeks pregnant with my third child, my previous 2 were emergency c section. I have it scheduled at 39 weeks but I've been having contractions for the last two weeks so the Dr want to move it up a week. Has anyone else had to deal with this. I'm afraid the baby's lungs won't be developed enough.

at 38 weeks you and your baby should be just fine. Lungs are fully developed after 27 weeks eventhough that doesn't mean he's ready come out just then. I had twins at 35 weeks and they were okay. 38 weeks is more than enough especially for a singleton. best of luck

I had a c section at 38 weeks and he turned out just fine :)
