Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

how can i tell how many weeks I am pregnant?

I just took a pregnancy test a few days ago, which was positive. After a doctor's visit she said she thinks I am about 8 weeks. But how can I be sure? My last full period was May 23, but I had a very light period in the beginning of July, only lasting a few days. August was my first missed period. Was the baby conceived in June? Impatient to wait for an ultrasound, which they will not do for another month...

If your doctor says 8 weeks, I would go with 8 weeks.  I doubt anyone on the internet is going to refute her diagnosis, particularly since we can't see you and do an examination ourselves!

The doctor judges by the info you gave her. She uses the spin wheel chart to get the date. An ultrasound will give you the same range the chart did.

the doctor will go by your date of last period. once she does an ultrasound the date may vary abit.
