Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

How do I get my 2 1/2 year old to use the potty ??

My son is 2 1/2 and I have been potty training since he was 2. I introduced the potty at 1 . Didn't make him use it, I just bought a potty and had it in my bathroom for him to see & he would sit on it every now and then. When he was 2 I bought pull ups and started putting him on the potty and he was having accidents every now and then. 3 months into it he was peeing in the potty when I sat him down, & he wasn't peeing on himself but continued to poop on himself ( he would run and hide when he would poop) then come back and say "mommy potty" Now he just pees and poops on himself. And doesn't care. He no longer wears pull ups he wears underwear w/ the thick middle. He will sometimes tell me has to potty , but lately he just isn't. Help please !

Sometimes kids just aren't ready, or they regress because of something stressful in their lives. Have there been any changes recently? If so, just give it some time. If not, try some different methods, like offering rewards for successful trips to the toilet.
