Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

When I have hiccups I lie down on the couch or a bed. I take a big, deep breath and hold it until just before I can't hold it anymore. (Holding it to the max will result in a big gasp for air, which you don't want.) And then I close my eyes and take steady, deep breaths for several minutes until I'm sure my hiccups are gone. If the hiccups start at any point during the deep breaths I start over the held breath. It works for me every time because it "resets" my diaphragm. (Hiccups are caused by diaphragm spasms.)
