i had my daughter 2 months early. i was sleeping, woke up for no reason my water broke...i didnt have her on that night but they kept me in the hospital for a week and then induced labor....she is 15 now and perfectly healthy...and i dont remember losing my mucus plug.

You don't have to use your mucus plug before going into labour. You can loose your plug weeks before going into actual labour. With all 3 of my deliveries I did not lose the plug first. When the baby's ready to be born then your water will break as the babe's pushing at the cervix. Keep in mind that you may you into labour before your water breaks or your water breaking and put you into full swinf labour.
