I agree, not everyone ovulates according to the calendar. I found out I ovulate right after my cycle, not 14 days after the start... invest in the ovulation tests if you can. I haven't used one but I've heard pretty good success stories for people who are fertile but just not able to track their days. Also, Lori's advice is correct, but remember to take other factors into consideration, your body type (very athletic, thin OR very overweight can have a hard time ovulating regularly), your stress level, your age, etc. Good luck!
Try Acupuncture! I have a friend who was having a lot of problems conceiving. Even did the fertility shots, pills, etc. and was faced only IVF as an option. She decided to go off all the medications while making her decision. After 6 months off the treatments, she went to an acupuncturist and was pregnant in 2 months! Due in July with a healthy little girl. Worth a try!
The best thing to do is also the hardest, and sometimes nearly impossible: don't think/worry about it. Stess plays an incredible role in fertility, even if you have sex on your peak ovulation days every time (and yes, get an ovulation kit, you may ovulate on a different time) I don't know how many women (myself included, and the Cancun friend mentioned above) that once you make some decision that takes the stress off, it happens.
If you've been activly trying for 12 months, then make an appointment to talk to your doctor.
I know it's worrisome, but have fun trying!!

There are signs when ovulation is about to occur. If you don't know what they are, get a book on predicting ovulation or do a google search on the subject.
I just had my first baby at the age of 44. My problem was low thyroid or Hypothyroidism which can cause infertility and miscarriages. Any woman who is having trouble conceiving should get a thorough thyroid work-up before trying
any kind of assisted reproductive technology. Hypothyroidism is easily corrected with medication that is safe to take during pregnancy.
