Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

Everyone I've known or heard about with PCOS has had to use some kind of fertility treatment. Since PCOS often causes problems with weight, many have had to get to a healthy weight before trying to conceive. (Not that this is necessarily an issue for you.) I've heard of women taking an herbal remedy called Vitex instead of using Clomid, and many have had luck with that. But, it's best to discuss this with your doctor, as he/she will be able to giv eyou the best advice.

hi VforVenture i like your answer because that is my problem, weight and my period am verly on treatment and now am about 98 pounds now am taking hormonal pills i think they are the mini pill idk and i have asked my doctor if it was alright to take the fertility blend because my problem is to regulate my period and the fertility blend is natrual herbal vitamins so my advice to her is to see a doctor and ask what she could take in order to conceive.

I too have pcos. You need to get in to see your OB. He/she will most likely put you on pills to stimulate your period and then you can begin clomid (or another fertility drug). It takes awhile (I am on round 5 of clomid) so the sooner, the better!

hi there. I was diagnosed with pcos 18 years ago. It is possible for you to have children. I am now a mom to a 17 yo girl and a 2 yo. little boy. My new husband and I just found out the other day that we are expecting again in August. I was 24 when i had my daughter and 39 when i had my son. when this new baby gets here i will have just turned 42. I believe in miracles and i have 3 to prove it. Keep seeing your doctor and do what they are telling you to do. all 3 of mine were unexpected because i never knew when i was ovulating. i had the symptoms of a period but no bleeding. i would have a period about every 3 months or so. I was also told that when you have pcos you have a greater chance of starting menopause as early as age 35. you are your most fertile during menopause and my doctor thinks that is how i got pregnant with my son. just say lots of prayers and things will start to happen.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17. When I was 19 my OBGYN wanted to do a hysterectomy because I had already had so many ruptured cyst and I also had endometriosis bad.  I have struggled for years with PCOS and have been told that it would be very very difficult to get pregnant without serious intervention.  Well, I am 32 years old now and got married on Oct 13th.  I had my gall bladder removed on Nov 18th and a follow up ultrasound showed no signs of PCOS at all..  I found out I was pregnant on Dec 25th of 2012 and will be welcoming a baby in August of 2013.  Lots of prayers have got me here and I am very excited and shocked since I never thought this would happen. My OBGYN had told me a few months ago that Metformin is very successful with women with PCOS getting pregnant so talk to your doctor.   Good Luck!! It can happen!
