Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

My first pregnancy was pretty much a breeze, with the exception that I couldn't control my eating =) With this second pregnancy, I've been able to manage my cravings, keep my weight down (lost two pounds actually) however, urinating is a huge issue When I go to the bathroom, no matter how badly I have to pee, I can't, not without having to push REALLY hard to get the pee to come out, and frankly it scares the heck out of me. I go to the doc in another week+ but I"m freaking out now, and can't afford a doc visit this week any suggestions/testimonies

You should at least call your doctor's office to talk with a nurse. This could be a symptom of a serious problem and you may need to be seen earlier, reagardless of whether or not you can really afford it. When it comes to your health, and your baby's health, there's no reason to wait on making a simple phone call.I'm in my third pregnancy and haven't experienced anything like that. I know that sometimes, depending on how things are positioned your bladder can be compressed and the urethra can be as well, which sort of pinches it closed. Pregnancy also puts us at a much higher risk for UTIs, which could be causing your problem.

Also, what does 10.8 weeks translate to? I can't figure it out and my confusion is bugging me. :)

Sounds like you might have a UTI.  One of the symptoms is the feeling like you need to pee, but no actual pee.  Definitely talk to your doctor before you take anything; most of the typical medicines for UTIs would be dangerous for the fetus.  And in the meantime, keep drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice (which is supposed to help keep the urinary tract free from infection).
