Is it normal to have occasional cramps in lower abdomen and sides?

I am 8 weeks pregnant with no spotting at all. For the past week, I have had occasional cramps (similar to during my period), not gassy cramps, in my lower abdomen and a little on my sides. Is this normal?

Yes, if they are mild and not extreme. If they are really bad I would check up with your doctor, but mild cramps are normal, it's just your body adjusting to being pregnant and for your little one growing inside you. Congratulations!
