Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

My 5 1/2 year old boy is having potty accidents weekly, what do I do?

He has been potty trained since about 3 years old and is very smart and responsible in every other way. As far as I can tell he has no physical reason for the accidents. He has always had issues on and off, but has gone several months in a row without a single problem, so I know that he can do it. I've tried everything and am currently working with him on incentives (he wants a pet fish) to stop what he is doing and go to the restroom. He doesn't seem to think it is a big issue, but it obviously is. Today he had an accident at preschool and then 3 more times at home! Please help!!! I'm looking online for answers, but am thinking I may need to make a doctors appointment to get to the bottom of this.

take him to the ped first. after you have ruled out any physical problems that would make him have accidents, such as an infection or the like, take him to the potty more often. limit his fluids.
