sitting up at that age is normal. that doesn't give her a green flag to walk early. has she rolled over? tried to pull up on anything? my daughter climbed out of her crib at 6 months, and cruised furniture. she took her first steps at 7 1/2 months. at 9 months, she took off walking.

Most babies start walking between 9-12 months.

6months is normal. If you want to encourage her to walk try helping her stand up while holding just your hands. My daughter started walking at 8 months after watching her big sis run around.
