Sometimes it's nice to get advice from experts with a lot of letter degrees behind their names, but other times, you just need to hear what another parent (with a M.O.M. behind her name) has done that has worked. You've got questions? These moms have answers.

So emotional and desperate to sleep

1 answers
Lately I've been so emotional only at night to where I can't sleep, and it's effecting me. In the past few days ive gotten a total of 10 hours of sleep, and I'm drained. And my fiancé is getting upset thinking I'm lying about something bothering me when really I just I can't control it... Am I allowed to take any sleeping medications?? Or will this pass... Thanks - Caitlin

You need to talk to your doctor about what medications you can take. And even then you should do some internet research to make sure. A lot of doctors prescribe medications that are thought to be safe, even though new studies have linked them to birth defects. In general, your best bet to stay away from any kind of drugs during pregnancy, even prescription and over the counter ones. Try some chamomile tea to help you sleep.
