I went to the doctor's and expressed my concern. The female, civilian doctor told me that it could be that my body is just off route, that I have too much stress in my life, or that I have some type of ovary disease. I opted against the tests for the ovary disease (I know I don't have it). And then, she asked about the b/c. She asked when I had started taking it and I answered her. She told me that I had been taking it wrong. Every peice of info that I had looked up on that particular b/c said that I could start it on a Sunday or anytime during the week if I wanted. Apparently, you have to start taking it the day after your period is over with.... Because I didn't know my cycles, I had taken it in the middle of both cycles...
And.. I asked her if I could get pregnant by not taking the b/c and having these abnormal periods and she said that it was a possibility, but not probable because I didn't know when I would ovulate... So... There's the news.

I've taken 4 or 5 different birth control pills. With each one the doctors said that I could wait until after my period, or I could start any time. I never waited until after my period, I simply started them as soon as I got them. I never had problems. So, I'm not sure what that doctor is talking about. Plenty of women with irregular cycles use birth control pills to regulate their cycles without waiting for a period. In your case, I think starting the pills when you did was the right call because there is no telling when you would have gotten a period.
If I were you, I would do any and all tests suggested to see if there is a cause for your irregular cycles. Knowing will help you and your doctor figure things out.
