Braxton hicks can be very painful and make it hard to walk etc but with braxton hicks you should be able to ease the pain by moving or changing postions or doing something different. As with true labour there's nothing you can do to ease to pain or make it go away, all you can do is wait till it's over. And yes to jessandmike08, every 10 min apart that's diffently time to go into the hospital. Watch for patterns, write the time your contraction or pain starts, how long it lasted and then write the time down again when it starts again. It will help you get better track of where you are at.
Any bleeding or water.... go the doctor immediately as staying home at that point is increasing chances of infection.
I had braxton hicks for about 2 months. When the real contractions start you will feel a noticable difference in the type and severity of the pain or discomfort. Keeping track of the time between the pains definately helps to see if its the real deal. Most importantly go see your doctor if you are really concerned or uncomfortable. The worst they can do is send you home to wait. Better safe then not ready. But keep your hospital bag packed just in case!
Its not labor if it stops. Braxton Hicks can seem like labor but if it is only at night and goes away then it is definitely just Braxton Hicks. I know it seems major and it is scary so I would definitely talk to your dr and see if as frequent as they come if it is normal. I hope all turns out well for you. Good luck :)
If you are EVER unsure about anything, call your doctor. Thats what you are paying then for!! Getting advise from us in great, but the only way you will really feel better is to call your doctor. I agree its probably braxton hicks, but you shouldnt worry yourself. With my first one i was always worried about going into labor & not being sure. I went to the hospital once before to ease my mind, before i was in actual labor. All they can do is send you home, and they will ease your mind doing it!!
