Clothes, a crib (plus mattress, sheets, etc.), blankets, a car seat, and some diapers and wipes are the bare essentials. Other things like a baby bathtub, baby bath towels and wash cloths, baby soap/shampoo, a crib mobile, a bouncy chair and/or swing, and a sling or wrap are also nice things to have.

burp cloths are good or receiving blankets, baby termometer, baby tylonol, nasal asperator, baby bottles, breast pump if you're planning on breast feeding and going to work, bottle brushes, dreft baby laundry detergant or free and clear detergant
