I think pretty much all new mattress are ok for your baby. I got the cheapest one at walmart for my two year old and it has been fine.
I agree with mommyofzoo we just got cheap ones for our daughter as well as our son who we are expecting in decmber.. she has always liked her mattress and we havent had any trouble with hers.. I dont think just because you spend more on something it makes it necessarily better.. good luck =)
