Well, normal body temp is 98.6, though my stepson (and a lot of kids) run a bit hotter, about 99 degrees, and I run cooler (97.5ish). Generally a true 'fever' is going to be over 100 or 101 degrees. As for lowering them (with meds or ice), I leave them alone unless they climb to 103, because a fever is your body's way of killing off germs.
