When my husband’s home, my 8-month-old wants nothing to do with me. It breaks my heart that he prefers his dad to me. Am I doing something wrong?

Q: When my husband's home, my 8-month-old wants nothing to do with me. It breaks my heart that he prefers his dad to me. Am I doing something wrong?

A: No, but your baby is doing something right for his age: namely, going through a normal "daddy phase." Be grateful you have a little time to yourself. Soon, this too shall pass and you'll be right back at center stage, wondering when you can get a moment alone to go to the bathroom.
