Most newborns are subject to a bevy of skin blemishes in the first two months. Relax, they are easily treatable and temporary. Here's a sampling of the mostly minor newborn rashes you might encounter.

First, cradle cap. Most pediatricians recommend a selenium-based dandruff shampoo, which can actually cure the problem. You can gently loosen the scales while shampooing, but you may still have to scrape some off afterward as well.

Some babies develop white or yellowish pin-sized pimples, usually on a baby's face. Infant acne often develops between two and four weeks of age. The best treatment -- none. Creams will just irritate your baby's skin and the acne will clear up on its own in a few weeks.
