1. Those costumes are a bit of work to get together, but doesn't your little ballerina/Spider-Man/grim reaper look adorable?

2. Trick-or-treating is a great way to meet the neighbors who don't come out the other 364 days of the year.

3. You have a perfect excuse to keep conversations short if you don't really care for said neighbors  -- "Okeydoke, the kids have a few more treats to score, so we'll see you later!"

4. One word: Candy. (Plus, you get to eat all the chocolate that's "questionable.")
