The Challenge: Transform the closet of the small nursery-to-be into a neat and organized spot for stowing baby clothes, diapers, toys, and other gear. The original sliding-door closet held just one hanging rod and shelf, and was a dumping ground for off-season clothes.
The Solution: Organizer [XREF "1154758_7" "Janine Sarna-Jones"] had Brennan empty the closet of everything, including the rack and shelf, and then designed built-in cubbies and a double hanging rack, which were installed by a local closet company. The closet is made to grow with Brennan's new baby: The shelf under the rods can be replaced with a third rod, or the space can be left bare to accommodate longer clothing, and the wire laundry basket pulls right out for trips to the washer. Folding, rather than sliding, doors will make it easy to access the entire closet at once.
"Colleen is 'container challenged,'" says Sarna-Jones, so the closet's stocked with bins and baskets -- an asset as Brennan settles into nesting mode. "I can wash Aidan's baby clothes and actually put them away now!" she says.
