The Challenge: Because Konigsberg is a savvy, successful woman, life coach [XREF "1047020_3" "Natalie Gahrmann"] says, she expects a lot of herself. The perfect example: She's frustrated that she still hasn't finished writing the thank-you notes from when Keith was born.

The Solution: Since skipping the notes altogether would make Konigsberg feel worse, Gahrmann is helping her see that projects like this don't need to become all-consuming:

Break down the task. What Konigsberg sees are the hundred notes she has to write. What Gahrmann wants her to see is one hour of work at a time. By spending one lunch break a week on them, she will finish, ¿ she says.

Give yourself a reward. The longer it takes to finish a big project, the harder it can seem. So if Konigsberg can give herself something to look forward to  -- instead of thinking only of the work involved  -- she'll have an easier time getting down to business. When she finishes, she plans to treat herself to a massage  -- and she won't have to write a thank-you note for that!

Quick Poll

Would you let your tween go trick or treating with just a group of friends?

No way, there are too many weirdoes out there!
For a little while, but only during daylight hours.
Sure, as long as they keep in touch with me.
