Announcing... a new Parenting magazine for moms with school-age kids!

If you have a child who has just started school or who's in the midst of it, you know that when it comes to parenting, school changes everything. No longer do you have (seeming) control over your child's friendships, snacks, and behavior. Now, though you love your kid so deeply, other people are judging him -- whether it's that cruel classmate on the playground or the teacher who grades his habits and his work.

When your child starts school, you and your family go through a huge transformation. You want your know-how to keep up -- that's where Parenting School Years comes in. Just like the Parenting you already know, there will be no preaching in this one. No judging. Just moms like me talking to moms like you, so we can figure this stuff out together. Cliques. Homework that stresses the whole family out. Back talk you can hardly believe.

Parenting School Years will be a resource, and a friend. Not the annoying friend who thinks she knows better than you about everything -- but the one you actually like. It'll be full of mom-tested tips and advice real parents can actually follow. (Believe me, I'm sick of sanctimommies, too.) If you're like me, you now find yourself saying new things that you'd never have said with just little kids around. Like:

  • "Soccer or ballet? Or both? How many activities can you really handle?"
  • "She said what to you at school?"
  • "Who are you texting?"
  • "You have a diorama due tomorrow?!?"
We'll help your family through this critical time, and also share plenty of joy and laughter. Oh, and we haven't forgotten about you:

Need an idea for dinner tonight, and tomorrow, too? We'll give you the whole week while we're at it -- all easy, healthy, throw-together meals.

Don't have time for beauty mags but feel you don't deserve mom hair? We've got fabulous beauty/style ideas, so you'll look great in a flash.

Toys aren't just for kids. We've got the best new techie treats for you, riveting reads, music, jewelry, shoes, home décor, travel ideas, and more.

I'm so excited about this new magazine (can you tell?). Just go to here to subscribe. Are your kids still little? I've got great news for you, too. Starting next year, besides everything you already love about Parenting, you're going to get pages and pages of extra treats: a week's worth of easy dinners, affordable beauty and fashion ideas, and even more helpful and empowering articles than before. So besides our beloved families, we've all got something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Blessings to you and yours,

Susan Kane, Editor-in-Chief

Quick Poll

Would you let your tween go trick or treating with just a group of friends?

No way, there are too many weirdoes out there!
For a little while, but only during daylight hours.
Sure, as long as they keep in touch with me.
