It's time to ditch the diet mentality that losing weight means avoiding tasty foods as deliberately as you dodge your MIL. These favorites can help tip the scale in your favor -- and keep it there.

Great egg-spectations Here's a reason to reconsider your a.m. meal: Women who ate two eggs for breakfast shed 65 percent more weight after eight weeks than those who had bagel breakfasts of equal calories, according to a new study from Louisiana State University. If eggs aren't your thing, you can still power up early with protein-packed foods like yogurt and cottage cheese.
Peanut power Sprinkling peanuts into your diet can help keep weight gain in check, suggests a recent study in The Journal of Nutrition. Nuts appear to increase metabolism and satiety levels, as well as decrease the fat absorbed during digestion, say researchers. One caveat: Stick to a tablespoon of PB or a small handful of peanuts to avoid a calorie OD.
Ice cream dream Indulging in your frozen fave doesn't have to make you a chunky monkey, according to a new study from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. Women who ate at least one daily serving of full-fat dairy products like milk, cheese, and ice cream gained less weight over ten years than women who ate fewer servings. Researchers suggest that people who include full-fat dairy in their balanced diets have healthier eating habits than those who deprive themselves. Answer your next ice cream scream with a fully satisfying half-cup serving -- enjoy!
