My mom never let me wear a bikini when I was little, and frankly, I didn't want to. My pooltime activities of dunking and bobbing and diving and spiraling through the water required full, low-maintenance coverage. And TMI alert: I didn't start wearing a bra until seventh grade. But Abercrombie has taken bikinis and underwear to a whole new level with their latest "push up" line for girls as young as 7.
This is the part of the story where I ask What. Were. They. Thinking? Why would a little girl ever need to look like she had boobs?
After parents complained, they removed the word "push-up" from their website, but the things are still for sale, padded as ever. (Now referred to as "lightly lined.")
Would you buy a push-up bikini for your 7-year-old?
