Busy Mom Makeup Tips
Maria Malcolm Beck is raising three kids under the age of 5 -- four, if you count Bluemercury, her fast-growing chain of eauty boutiques. We had to find out how she manages, with such a full schedule, to stay sane and still look great.
What do you never skip?
I always wash my face and take off my eye makeup at night. It's tempting to head straight to bed, but going to sleep with clean skin means I can do less in the morning.
What's the best way to hide tired eyes?
First, wet a tissue with cold water and apply it to each eye to bring down any puffiness. Then use an eye-brightening concealer (try Benefit Erase Paste, $26).
You've got five minutes to get out the door. What's the easiest way to look great?
I use a tinted moisturizer, then line my eyes with a pencil and throw on mascara. Trish McEvoy High-Volume Mascara ($28) is my fave -- it curls lashes and wraps around each one, making them look twice as full.
What's one product worth splurging on?
Hands down, the one that will improve your biggest issue. That may be a great acne fighter, a fine-line-fighting serum with antioxidants, or an industrial-strength concealer. For me, it's the serum. I use Un-Wrinkle by Peter Thomas Roth ($120).
