Make sure your state spends its education funding on what matters most: qualified teachers.

Follow the Money!

Let's see how the money gets divided up, and how much your state will get.

Some background: There are 14 Education-related programs -- grants for school improvement, technology, preschool programs, and more -- that will be paid for out of the estimated $100 billion. Here's a breakdown of how much money goes to each program.

It's helpful to know that not all of these programs will be funded at the same time. Two major rounds of funding are scheduled: one in February 2009, and the next starting July 1, 2009.

An organization called the Every Child Matters Education Fund also provides a great explanation of how each program is paid for in each state. Click on your state on this map to follow the money!
