Fitness Level Doesn't Guarantee Fertility

If you’re in great shape and general good health, you’ve definitely got a fertility advantage. But don’t make the mistake of assuming that your great BMI (body mass index), strong biceps, and fast running times means you’ve got nothing to worry about. Pat yourself on the back for taking such great care of your body, but don’t neglect the preconception advice recommended for all women who are hoping to be pregnant soon. Fitness level is just one element of fertility. According to the American Pregnancy Association, couples who are actively trying to conceive have about a one-in-four chance in any given month. And that goes for both marathoners and couch potatoes.
