First Aid Checklist

When you're a mom, bumps, bruises, and boo-boos come with the territory. Here are the first aid supplies you need to keep on hand at home or when you travel

Keep one in your home and one in your car. Check the kits regularly  -- replace missing items or those that may have become outdated.

Sterile gauze

Adhesive tape

Adhesive bandages in several sizes

Elastic bandage

Antiseptic wipes

Soap

Antibiotic cream (triple-antibiotic ointment)

Antiseptic solution (like hydrogen peroxide)

Hydrocortisone cream (1%)

Acetaminophen and aspirin (aspirin is NOT recommended for children under age 12)

Extra prescription medications (if going on vacation)

Tweezers

Sharp scissors

Safety pins

Disposable instant cold packs

Calamine lotion

Alcohol wipes

Thermometer

Plastic gloves (2 prs.)

Flashlight and extra batteries
