Honda Announces Two Different Major Recalls of Several Models

Thousands of Hondas have been recalled due to malfunctions with the master power window switch or the driver's side airbag

Honda has recently announced two different major recalls on several of their models.

Honda Fit Recall:

Honda has recalled over 600,000 2007-2008 Fits worldwide. In some cases, if water leaks into the master power window switch on the driver's side, the switch can overheat. This recall affects about 140,000 Hondas in the U.S.

Honda will notify consumers how and when to have their vehicle inspected at a Honda dealer. If customers notice any malfunction with the master power window switch in the driver's door, they should have their vehicle inspected as soon as possible.

Honda Airbag Recall:

Honda has expanded a previous recall of driver's side airbags to include over 375,000 2001 and 2002 Accord, Civic, Odyssey, CR-V, and selected 2002 Acura TL vehicles. The driver's airbag inflators in these vehicles may deploy with too much pressure, which can cause the inflator casing to rupture and could result in injury or fatality. There have been 12 reported incidents related to airbag inflation malfunctions.

Honda encourages all owners of these vehicles to take their vehicle to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification from Honda that their vehicle is affected. Notification to customers will start within this month.
