Q. My parents want to take my oldest on vacation with them, but I don't want my youngest to feel bad. Should I not let them take my eldest?

A. You know what it's like to feed, entertain, finance, and care for two kids at once: It's hard! Imagine what it would be like for your parents to have both of them on their trip. They're probably taking your eldest because they want a little uninterrupted Q.T. with him, and feel he's old enough to appreciate it. The little one will get his turn in a few years. In the meantime, use the trip to give your youngest one-on-one time. Plan some fun activities with him, and thank your parents for giving you a little breathing room.
