The Internet is rife with due date calculators and calendars. But no matter how you crunch the numbers, it’s your baby who will decide when to make an entrance.
And, these days, babies in the know are choosing Tuesday. According to the CDC, in 2004 (the most recent numbers available) the greatest number of births—13,045—occurred on a Tuesday, with Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, not far behind. This trend held true for both vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, including repeat C-sections. The fewest number of births—8,496 and 7,501—were on Saturdays and Sundays, respectively. Perhaps women would rather miss a workday than a weekend day to give birth?
