Payless Shoe Source recalls about 290,000 children's shoes

May 2, 2007
Payless ShoeSource has recalled about 290,000 children's clog shoes. The rivets on the shoe straps can detach and pose a choking hazard to young children.

The recalled shoes are Children's Airwalk Compel Shoes, sold in prewalk size 3 through toddler size 10. There are air ventilation holes on the top and side of the shoe and plastic rivets with the Airwalk logo on the strap. The shoe size and Airwalk logo are printed on the sole. The shoes were sold nationwide at Payless ShoeSource, Pamida, and payless.com from August 2006 through April 2007 for about [DOLLAR]13.

To receive a refund or an exchange, consumers should return the shoes to the store where they were purchased.
