Tune Up Your Workout
Found: a no-pain way to get more results from your exercise routine. Match your moves to the right beat and you will exercise longer and harder during moderate workouts, new research shows. "Exercising to music that mirrors your heart rate can increase endurance by fifteen percent," says study author Costas Karageorghis, Ph.D., an associate professor of sports psychology at Brunel University in London. The ideal tempo? Peppy -- about 120 to 140 beats per minute.
