Earl

Though it is the title of a British nobleman, in American pop culture Earl is decidely lowbrow. He's a guy with a beer can and a Barcalounger, like the lovable loser of My Name Is Earl, or the abusive husband the Dixie Chicks dispose of in the song "Goodbye Earl."
