Um...how rude of a description! Aurora is a beautiful name -- your personal commentary should be kept to yourself.

I agree find a meaning for it other than that, every name has a menaing and not just "a princess that needs to prince to rescue her"

We gave our daughter the name Aurora (Aurora Jane Katherine, to be exact) but we didn't actually think about the Disney connection until after we had chosen the name and it became her name--even though she wasn't born yet. We thought of the Latin goddess of the dawn--I did Classics in college--and George Sand. We'd take a goddess and a gender-bending novelist any day over a princess who needs rescuing! But still, in the movie, which we have since watched several times, the king and queen give the princess the name Aurora "because she filled their lives with sunshine" and that's exactly how we feel about our Aurora.
