I am part Scottish. I grew up attending a Scottish theme high school, where we were taught that "Moxie" meant: Spirit, Valor, Bravery, Strength, Courage, Internal Fortitude, and Determination (all rolled into one). I think for those descriptive reasons, "Moxie", is a great characterization. It is certainly a much better reason for naming a child when compared to "the origin of use" for the name as originating from an old soda pop advertisement! Congratulations, and may your baby live a long and happy life, and may he or she have plenty of Moxie!
